As funny as it is to read David Sedaris, it's always funnier to hear him read his own stories. The essay about working as a Christmas elf in Macy's, the one about him putting shoeshine in his hair as a kid in order to mimic the sleuthing doctor from the Fugitive--they have made me laugh so hard tears were rolling down my cheeks as I drove down the highway.
Now I can't wait to hear some of these stories on the air. Two in particular--"It's Catching" and "That's Amore" already had me in tears just reading them. I also really liked "Solution to Saturday's Puzzle," though it's a quieter read--you will not disturb those around you with out-loud laughter, just the occasional giggle.
