Food and women

Food never seems to be just about eating for most women. It's got guilt, shame, self-image, love and responsibility all wrapped up in it together. Families and lovers too. Both of these books attempt to unravel the issues through the short stories.

I wasn't a huge fan of either collection. Berg is lighthearted but unmemorable; Vapnyar is depressive and unappetizing.
