Marlene Rye is an amazing artist, a Smith College graduate and the mother of a beautiful, smart little boy. While I was in college I nannied part-time for her kiddo, who was just barely out of babyhood. In return, she gave me a piece of her art. I love it...but I want more. I love this one--it's called "The Quiet." Check out her page, enjoy her work, but please hold off buying <-- this piece unless you're buying it for me. :)

Hey Sonora!!! I just found your blog with my painting. Are you living in Pennsylvania now? "The Quiet" is actually at Gross McCleaf Gallery in Philadelphia if you'd ever like to see it in person. Reid is 6 now and in Kindergarten, time does fly. We think of you often and hope you are well!
